डेल्टा और ओमिक्रॉन मिलकर बना सकते हैं नया सुपर वैरिएंट, मॉडर्ना के CMO ने दी चेतावनी

नई दिल्‍ली। दुनियाभर में कोरोना वायरस के नए वेरिएंट ओमिक्रॉन के मामले तेजी से बढ़ते नजर आ रहे हैं। अमेरिका से लेकर ब्रिटेन तक इसकी दहशत दिखाई दे रही है। भारत में अब तक इसके 100 से ज्यादा मामले सामने आ चुके हैं। इस बीच वैक्सीन निर्माता कंपनी मॉडर्ना के मुख्‍य चिकित्‍सा अधिकारी डॉ. पॉल बर्टन ने चेताया है कि डेल्टा और ओमिक्रॉन मिलने एक नया सुपर वैरिएंट बना सकते हैं। 
डॉ. बर्टन ने कहा है कि अगर किसी मरीज को ओमिक्रॉन और डेल्‍टा म्‍यूटेंट स्‍ट्रेन एक ही समय पर संक्रमित करता है तो कोरोनावायरस का एक नया सुपर वेरिएंट सामने आ सकता है।
 
उन्होंने कहा कि कोरोना संक्रमण में आमतौर पर केवल एक म्‍यूटेशन स्‍ट्रेन शामिल होता है, वहीं दुर्लभ मामलों में एक से अधिक स्‍ट्रेन एक ही समय पर किसी मरीज पर हमला कर सकते हैं। यदि ये दोनों स्‍ट्रेन भी उसी सेल को संक्रमित करते हैं, तो वे डीएनए की अदला-बदली कर सकते हैं और वायरस का एक नया वेरिएंट बना सकते हैं।

उन्‍होंने कहा कि अगर इस तरह का कोई नया वेरिएंट सामने आता है तो वह बहुत ही ज्‍यादा खतरनाक हो सकता है। अभी तक कोरोना के जीन की अदला बदली होने से 3 कोरोना के नए स्‍ट्रेन रिपोर्ट किए गए हैं।
ब्रिटेन में शुक्रवार को पहले ही कोरोना के 93 हजार नए मामले सामने आए हैं। जिन लोगों की जीनोम सीक्वेंसिंग की गई, उनमें तीन हजार से ज्यादा ओमिक्रॉन से ही संक्रमित मिले।
