उज्जैन में महाकाल ज्योतिर्लिंग के दर्शन करने जा रहे हैं तो पहले जान लें 10 खास बातें

यदि आप मध्यप्रदेश की तीर्थनगरी उज्जैन में पुण्य सलिला शिप्रा तट के निकट स्थित 6ठी शताब्दी ईसा पूर्व में निर्मित 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों में से एक बाबा महाकालेश्वर के दर्शन करने जा रहे हैं तो कुछ जरूरी 10 बात अवश्य जान लें।

1. भस्म आरती : कालों के काल महाकाल के यहां प्रतिदिन अलसुबह भस्म आरती होती है। इस आरती की खासियत यह है कि इसमें ताजा मुर्दे की भस्म से भगवान महाकाल का श्रृंगार किया जाता है। इस आरती में शामिल होने के लिए पहले से बुकिंग की जाती है।

2. जूना महाकाल : महाकाल के दर्शन करने के बाद जूना महाकाल के दर्शन जरूर करना चाहिए। यह महाकाल प्रांगण में ही स्थित है।

3. तीन महाकाल विराजमान हैं उज्जैन में : उज्जैन में साढ़े तीन काल विराजमान है- महाकाल, कालभैरव, गढ़कालिका और अर्ध काल भैरव। यदि महाकाल बाबा और जूना महाकाल बाबा के दर्शन कर लिए हैं तो यहां के दर्शन भी जरूर करें।

4. 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों में सबसे खास : 12 ज्योतिर्लिंगों में से महाकाल ही एकमात्र सर्वोत्तम शिवलिंग है। कहते हैं कि 'आकाशे तारकं लिंगं पाताले हाटकेश्वरम्। भूलोके च महाकालो लिंड्गत्रय नमोस्तु ते।।' अर्थात आकाश में तारक शिवलिंग, पाताल में हाटकेश्वर शिवलिंग तथा पृथ्वी पर महाकालेश्वर ही मान्य शिवलिंग है।

5. महाकालेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग के तीन भाग हैं : वर्तमान में जो महाकालेश्वर ज्योतिर्लिंग है, वह 3 खंडों में विभाजित है। निचले खंड में महाकालेश्वर, मध्य खंड में ओंकारेश्वर तथा ऊपरी खंड में श्री नागचन्द्रेश्वर मंदिर स्थित है। नागचन्द्रेश्वर शिवलिंग के दर्शन वर्ष में एक बार नागपंचमी के दिन ही करने दिए जाते हैं।

6. गर्भगृह का दृश्य : गर्भगृह में विराजित भगवान महाकालेश्वर का विशाल दक्षिणमुखी शिवलिंग है। इसी के साथ ही गर्भगृह में माता पार्वती, भगवान गणेश व कार्तिकेय की मोहक प्रतिमाएं हैं। गर्भगृह में नंदी दीप स्थापित है, जो सदैव प्रज्वलित होता रहता है। गर्भगृह के सामने विशाल कक्ष में नंदी की प्रतिमा विराजित है।

7. उज्जैन के राजा : उज्जैन का एक ही राजा है और वह है महाकाल बाबा। विक्रमादित्य के शासन के बाद से यहां कोई भी राजा रात में नहीं रुक सकता। जिसने भी यह दुस्साहस किया है, वह संकटों से घिरकर मारा गया। यदि आप मंत्री या राजा हैं तो यहां रात ना रुकें। वर्तमान में भी कोई भी राजा, मुख्‍यमंत्री और प्रधानमंत्री आदि यहां रात नहीं रुक सकता।

8. महाकाल की सवारी : उज्जैन के राजा महाकाल बाबा श्रावण मास में प्रति सोमवार नगर भ्रमण करते हैं और अपनी प्रजा को देखते हैं। महाकाल की सवारी में किसी भी प्रकार का नशा करके शामिल नहीं होते हैं। महाशिवरात्रि के दिन समूचा शहर शिवमय हो जाता है। चारों ओर बस शिव जी का ही गुंजन सुनाई देता है। सारा शहर बाराती बन शिवविवाह में शामिल होता है।

9. क्यों कहते हैं महाकाल : काल के दो अर्थ होते हैं- एक समय और दूसरा मृत्यु। महाकाल को 'महाकाल' इसलिए कहा जाता है कि प्राचीन समय में यहीं से संपूर्ण विश्व का मानक समय निर्धारित होता था इसीलिए इस ज्योतिर्लिंग का नाम 'महाकालेश्वर' रखा गया है। हालांकि महाकाल कहने का संबंध पौराणिक मान्यता से भी जुड़ा हुआ है।

10. महाकाल की पौराणिक कथा : पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार इस शिवलिंग की स्थापना राजा चन्द्रसेन और गोप बालक रूप की कथा से जुड़ी है। कथा से हनुमानजी का संबंध भी जुड़ा हुआ है।
