वैज्ञानिकों ने विकसित की जल शुद्धिकरण की हाईब्रिड तकनीक
नई दिल्ली, बढ़ते प्रदूषण के कारण स्वच्छ पेयजल की उपलब्धता सुनिश्चित करना चुनौतीपूर्ण हो गया है। शुद्धिकरण के लिए जल से ऐसे रोगजनक सूक्ष्मजीवों को हटाना जरूरी होता है, जो कई प्रकार के जल-जनित रोगों की उत्पत्ति के लिए जिम्मेदार माने जाते हैं। लेकिन, क्लोरीनीकरण जैसी रासायनिक विधियों की कुछ सामान्य खामियों में हानिकारक / कैंसरकारी सह-उत्पादों का निर्माण शामिल है।
इस तरह के हानिकारक सह-उत्पादो से रहित ऐसी तकनीक विकसित करना अधिक उपयुक्त हो सकती है, जो किफायती होने के साथ-साथ सुरक्षित व स्वच्छ पेयजल प्रदान करती हो, और संचालन में भी आसान हो।

वैज्ञानिक तथा औद्योगिक अनुसंधान परिषद (सीएसआईआर) की पुणे स्थित लैब राष्ट्रीय रासायनिक प्रयोगशाला (एनसीएल) के वैज्ञानिक डॉ वीएम भंडारी और उनकी टीम ने ‘स्वास्तिक’ नामक एक हाईब्रिड तकनीक विकसित की है। इस तकनीक में प्रेशर रिडक्शन (कैविटेशन) के परिणामस्वरूप तरल को उबाला जाता है तथा इसमें रोगाणु-रोधी गुणों वाले प्राकृतिक तेलों का भी उपयोग किया जाता है।
यह तकनीक रोगाणु-रोधी-सहिष्णु बैक्टीरिया सहित अन्य हानिकारक बैक्टीरिया को खत्म कर सकती है। शोधकर्ताओं का कहना है कि यह तकनीक पानी को संक्रमण रहित करने के लिए आयुर्वेद के भारतीय पारंपरिक ज्ञान को समेकित करती है, और प्राकृतिक तेलों के संभावित स्वास्थ्य लाभों को भी प्रस्तुत करती है।
