उमर अब्दुल्ला के नाम दर्ज है यह अनोखा चुनावी रिकॉर्ड
जम्मू। वर्ष 2004 में पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री उमर अब्दुल्ला पहले ऐसे युवा नेकां नेता बने थे, जिन्होंने संसदीय चुनाव में हैट्रिक बनाई थी। अब्दुल्ला खानदान के वे पहले सदस्य भी थे हैट्रिक बनाने वाले। उनकी दादी जहां दो बार लोकसभा चुनाव जीत पाई थीं तो अब्बू फारूक अब्दुल्ला ने एक चुनाव जीता था। वैसे उमर अब्दुल्ला अकेले ऐसे नेता नहीं हैं जिन्होंने जम्मू-कश्मीर में हैट्रिक बनाई हो बल्कि 6 अन्य नेता भी संसदीय चुनावों में हैट्रिक बना चुके हैं।
उमर अब्दुल्ला ने पहला संसदीय चुनाव 1998 में लड़ा था। उन्होंने श्रीनगर की खानदानी सीट से किस्मत आजमाई थी। जब वे 1999 के चुनाव में पुनः इसी संसदीय क्षेत्र से मैदान में उतरे थे तो यही कहा जाने लगा था कि वे शायद ही जीत पाएं। कारण स्पष्ट था कि श्रीनगर संसदीय क्षेत्र के बारे में कहा जाता रहा है कि उसने कभी किसी सांसद को दूसरी बार संसद में नहीं भिजवाया था। यही कारण था कि श्रीनगर संसदीय क्षेत्र से 1977 में उमर की दादी अकबर जहां बेगम ने चुनाव लड़ने के बाद अगला चुनाव अनंतनाग से लड़ा था। मगर उमर ने इस मिथ को तोड़ डाला।
उमर वर्ष 2004 में न सिर्फ श्रीनगर संसदीय क्षेत्र से तीसरी बार चुनाव जीते बल्कि वे पहले युवा नेकां नेता भी बने जिन्होंने इतनी कम उम्र में ही संसदीय चुनाव में हैट्रिक बनाई थी। हालांकि इससे पहले नेकां के ही सैफुद्दीन सोज बारामुला से तीन बार चुनाव जीत चुके थे, लेकिन लगातार चुनावों में नहीं बल्कि 1984 और 1989 में विजय पाने वाले सोज को 1996 के चुनाव में लड़ने का मौका ही नहीं मिला था।
इतना जरूर है कि उमर अब्दुल्ला, अब्दुल्ला परिवार के प्रथम ऐसे सदस्य बने थे, जिन्होंने हैट्रिक बनाई थी। इससे पहले फारूक अब्दुल्ला श्रीनगर से एक बार 1980 तथा दूसरी बार 2009 के चुनाव में जीते थे तो उनकी अम्मी अकबर बेगम दो बार चुनाव जीत चुकी हैं। तकनीकी तौर पर देखा जाए तो फारूक अब्दुल्ला भी श्रीनगर संसदीय सीट से हैट ट्रिक बनाने में तब कामयाब हुए थे जब उन्होंने 2017 में उपचुनाव जीता था।
रिकॉर्ड पर एक नजर दौड़ाई जाए तो उमर अब्दुल्ला अगर जम्मू कश्मीर के सबसे कम उम्र के सांसद थे, जिन्होंने हैट्रिक बनाई थी। इतना जरूर है कि उनके पहले अन्य राजनीतिज्ञ भी हैट्रिक बना चुके हैं जम्मू-कश्मीर में। इन नेताओं में डॉ. कर्णसिंह, चमन लाल गुप्ता, मुहम्मद शफी कुरैशी, सैफुद्दीन सोज तथा पी. नामग्याल भी शामिल हैं, लेकिन सोज और नामग्याल की जीत लगातार नहीं थी।
आधिकारिक रिकॉर्ड के अनुसार उधमपुर संसदीय क्षेत्र ने जहां दो राजनीतिज्ञों को हैट्रिक बनाने का अवसर प्रदान किया वहीं जम्मू संसदीय क्षेत्र ने ऐसा मौका आज तक किसी को नहीं दिया है। जबकि बारामुला, श्रीनगर, लद्दाख तथा अनंतनाग से एक-एक राजनीतिज्ञ ऐसा रिकॉर्ड बना चुका है।
उधमपुर संसदीय क्षेत्र ने डॉ. कर्णसिंह और चमन लाल गुप्ता को यह अवसर प्रदान किया। लद्दाख से पी. नामग्याल, अनंतनाग से मुहम्मद शफी कुरैशी, बारामुला से सैफुद्दीन सोज तीन बार चुनाव जीते। इतना जरूर है कि इनमें से डॉ. कर्ण सिंह, चमन लाल गुप्ता, मुहम्मद शफी कुरैशी तथा उमर अब्दुल्ला ने ही लगातार हुए तीन चुनावों में जीत हासिल करते हुए हैट्रिक बनाई। सैफुद्दीन सोज तथा पी नामग्याल लगातार ऐसी जीत हासिल नहीं कर पाए।
