नई दिल्ली। कोरोनावायरस के बी.1.617 स्वरूप को 'भारतीय स्वरूप' कहे जाने को लेकर केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने बुधवार को कहा कि विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) ने अपने दस्तावेज में इस स्वरूप के लिए 'भारतीय' शब्द का इस्तेमाल नहीं किया है। मंत्रालय ने 'निराधार और बेबुनियाद' मीडिया रिपोर्टों को खारिज कर दिया जिसमें बी.1.617 स्वरूप के लिए 'भारतीय स्वरूप' का उपयोग किया है जिसे डब्ल्यूएचओ ने हाल ही में 'वैश्विक चिंता वाला स्वरूप' कहा था।
डब्ल्यूएचओ ने यह भी कहा कि वह वायरस या स्वरूप की पहचान उन देशों के नामों के साथ नहीं करता है, जहां यह सबसे पहले पाया गया है। डब्ल्यूएचओ दक्षिण-पूर्व एशिया ने एक ट्वीट में कहा कि हम उनके वैज्ञानिक नामों से उनका उल्लेख करते हैं और सभी से अनुरूपता के लिए ऐसा करने का अनुरोध करते हैं। मंत्रालय ने कहा कि कई मीडिया रिपोर्टों में बी.1.617 को वर्गीकृत करने की विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) की खबरों को वैश्विक चिंता के रूप में उल्लेख किया गया है। इनमें से कुछ रिपोर्टों में कोरोनावायरस के बी.1.617 स्वरूप को 'भारतीय स्वरूप' कहा गया है।
मंत्रालय ने कहा कि ये मीडिया रिपोर्ट बिना किसी आधार के और बेबुनियाद हैं। उसने कहा कि यह स्पष्ट है कि डब्ल्यूएचओ ने अपने 32 पृष्ठ के दस्तावेज में कोरोनावायरस के बी.1.617 स्वरूप के लिए 'भारतीय स्वरूप' शब्द का इस्तेमाल नहीं किया है। मंत्रालय ने कहा कि वास्तव में इस मामले पर उसकी रिपोर्ट में 'भारतीय' शब्द का उपयोग नहीं किया गया है।

डब्ल्यूएचओ में कोविड-19 तकनीकी प्रमुख डॉ. मारिया वान केरखोव ने सोमवार को कहा था कि भारत में पहली बार पहचाने गए वायरस के बी.1.617 स्वरूप को 'वैरिएंट ऑफ इंटरेस्ट' के रूप में वर्गीकृत किया गया है। इससे पहले डब्ल्यूएचओ ने कहा था कि भारत में पिछले साल पहली बार सामने आया कोरोनावायरस का बी.1.617 स्वरूप 44 देशों में पाया गया है और यह 'स्वरूप चिंताजनक' है। (भाषा)
