श्रावण का पवित्र माह आरंभ हो गया है और सावन सोमवार के दिन भगवान शिव और देवी पार्वती की पूजा (Lord Shiva Pujan) की जाती है। प्राचीन शास्त्रों के अनुसार सोमवार के व्रत 3 तरह के होते हैं। सोमवार, 16 सोमवार और सौम्य प्रदोष। सोमवार व्रत की विधि सभी व्रतों में समान होती है।

आइए यहां जानते हैं शिव पूजन के सबसे आसान तरीके- 
 
1. श्रावण मास सोमवार में सवेरे शिवालय में तांबे के कलश में गंगाजल, अक्षत, सफेद चंदन मिलाकर शिवलिंग पर 'ॐ नम: शिवाय' यह मंत्र बोलते हुए अर्पित करें।
 
2. जल अर्पण के बाद शिव की अक्षत, रौली, बिल्वपत्र, सफेद वस्त्र, जनेऊ व घी की मिठाई के साथ खासतौर परशमी पत्र नीचे लिखे मंत्र बोल यश, धन, संपदा, सुकीर्ति के लिए व जाने-अनजाने पापों के नाश की कामना करते हुए चढ़ाएं- अमंगलानां च शमनीं शमनीं दुष्कृतस्य च। :स्वप्रनाशिनीं धन्यां प्रपद्येहं शमीं शुभाम्।।
 
3. जल अर्पण, पूजा व शमी पत्र चढ़ाने के बाद शिव की धूप, दीप व कर्पूर आरती कर प्रसाद ग्रहण करें।
