उन्होंने हालांकि स्पष्ट किया कि जुम्मे पर लोगों के ऐतिहासिक जामा मस्जिद में एकत्र होने की इजाजत नहीं होगी। लोग अपने इलाके की स्थानीय मस्जिदों में नमाज पढ़ सकते हैं।
अन्य अधिकारियों ने बताया कि जुम्मे की नमाज से पहले पूरे कश्मीर घाटी में सुरक्षाबलों को हाई अलर्ट पर रखा गया है ताकि जम्मू-कश्मीर का विशेष दर्जा खत्म कर दो केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में बांटने के फैसले के खिलाफ संभावित विरोध प्रदर्शन को रोका जा सके।
उन्होंने कहा कि श्रीनगर के सिविल लाइन्स और डल झील इलाके में लोगों को आवाजाही की छूट देने के एक दिन बाद कानून व्यवस्था बनाए रखने के लिए ये एहतियाती कदम उठाए गए हैं। (भाषा)
