-चक्रवाती तूफान अम्फान इस समय सुंदरबन के पास पश्चिम बंगाल के तटीय क्षेत्र से गुजर रहा है और शाम तक कोलकाता के पास पहुंच जाएगा।
-पश्चिम बंगाल के तटीय जिलों में 160 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार वाली प्रचंड हवाएं चलनी शुरू हो गई हैं। चक्रवाती तूफान अम्फान का आगे वाला हिस्सा दस्तक दे चुका है। तूफान का बीच वाला हिस्सा किसी भी समय पहुंच सकता है।
-तेज बारिश और तूफानी हवाओं के साथ अगले 4 घंटे में यह चक्रवात और भीषण हो जाएगा।
-चक्रवात के आगमन के समय इसकी रफ्तार 160-170 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा थी। आगे इसकी रफ्तार 190 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा पहुंचने की आशंका है।
-एनडीआरएफ ने दोनों राज्यों में राहत एवं बचाव कार्यों के लिए 41 टीमों को तैनात किया है। हर टीम में 41 सदस्य हैं। इसके अलावा पुलिस और अग्निशमन बल को भी तैनात किया गया है।
-तूफान के मध्य क्षेत्र (आई ऑफ स्टॉर्म) का व्यास करीब 40 किलोमीटर है और तूफान के पूरी तरह पहुंचने की प्रक्रिया तीन से चार घंटे में पूरी होगी। उम्मीद है कि शाम 7 बजे तक तूफान पूरी तरह दस्तक दे देगा।
-चक्रवात ‘अम्फान से ओडिशा में भारी तबाही हुई है। पश्चिम बंगाल तट की ओर बढ़ रहे चक्रवात के दौरान तेज हवाओं के साथ-साथ भारी बारिश हुई। इससे बड़ी संख्या में पेड़ उखड़ गए वहीं कई कच्चे मकान भी ढह गए।
-चक्रवात के ओडिशा तट से गुजरने के दौरान पुरी, खुर्दा, जगतसिंहपुर, कटक, केंद्रपाडा, जाजपुर, गंजाम, भद्रक और बालासोर जिलों में विभिन्न स्थानों में मंगलवार से भारी बारिश हो रही है।
-चक्रवात के दौरान केंद्रपाड़ा और भद्रक में दो लोगों की मौत होने की सूचना है लेकिन उनकी मौत के कारण अभी तक स्पष्ट नहीं हो सके हैं। भद्रक के तिहड़ी इलाके में तीन महीने के एक शिशु की मौत हो गई।
-केंद्रपाड़ा में प्राकृतिक कारणों से 67 वर्षीय एक महिला की घर में मौत हो गई। केंद्रपाड़ा के जिलाधिकारी समर्थ वर्मा ने कहा कि तत्काल राहत के रूप में 12,000 रुपए दिए गए हैं।
-एसआरसी ने कहा कि उखड़े हुए पेड़ों से बाधित सड़कों को युद्धस्तर पर साफ किया जा रहा है। वहीं अगर बिजली की आपूर्ति बाधित होती है तो उसे जल्द से जल्द बहाल की जाएगी।
-इससे पहले ओडिशा में पिछले साल तीन मई को आए ‘फेनी’ तूफान के कारण कम से कम 64 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी।
-पश्चिम बंगाल में अबतक करीब 5 लाख लोगों को और ओडिशा में 1.5 लाख से ज्यादा लोगों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर भेजा गया है।

- मौसम विभाग के अनुसार पारादीप में 102 किमी प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से हवा चल रही है। चंदबली में 74, भुवनेश्वर में 37, बालासोर में 61 और पुरी में 41 किमी प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से चल रही है हवा।

-आईएमडी के मुताबिक ओडिशा में बुधवार को भारी बारिश का अनुमान था, वैसा हो रहा है लेकिन गुरुवार को ज्यादा बारिश नहीं होगी।
- दोपहर 2 बजे चक्रवात ‘अम्फान’ पश्चिमी मध्य बंगाल की खाड़ी के ऊपर अत्यधिक गंभीर चक्रवाती तूफान के रूप में पश्चिम बंगाल के दीघा से करीब 170 किलोमीटर दक्षिण में केंद्रित था। इसके कुछ ही घंटों में सुंदरवन के निकट पहुंचने की संभावना है।
- मौसम विज्ञान विभाग के कार्यालय ने बताया कि ‘अम्फान’ के सुंदरवन पहुंचने के बाद उत्तर-उत्तरपूर्व दिशा की ओर बढ़ने और इसके पूर्वी सिरे के कोलकाता के निकट से गुजरने की संभावना है। इससे शहर के निचले इलाकों में भारी नुकसान होने और बाढ़ आने की आशंका है।
- मौसम विज्ञान विभाग ने बताया कि तूफान के केंद्र के निकट हवाओं की गति लगातार 170 से 180 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा बनी रही जिसने बीच-बीच में 200 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार पकड़ी।
- अम्फान को देखते हुए पश्चिम बंगाल और ओडिशा के जोखिम वाले इलाकों को खाली करा दिया गया है।

- मौसम विज्ञान विभाग ने बताया कि ‘अम्फान’ के उत्तर-उत्तरपूर्व दिशा की ओर बढ़ने और बुधवार की दोपहर से शाम तक ‘अत्यंत भीषण चक्रवाती तूफान’ के रूप में सुंदरवन के निकट पश्चिम बंगाल-बांग्लादेश तटों के बीच दीघा और हटिया द्वीप के बीच से गुजरने की संभावना है।
- मौसम विभाग के मुताबिक आज दोपहर या फिर शाम तक सुपर साइक्लोन 'अम्फान' पश्चिम बंगाल और उड़ीसा के तट पर पहुंचेगा।
- राष्ट्रीय आपदा मोचन बल (NDRF) के महानिदेशक एसएन प्रधान ने कहा कि एनडीआरएफ ‘अम्फान’ को हल्के में नहीं ले रहा है क्योंकि ऐसा दूसरी बार हुआ है जब भारत बंगाल की खाड़ी में आए प्रचंड चक्रवातीय तूफान का सामना कर रहा है।
- मौसम विभाग ने पश्चिम बंगाल के लिए 'ऑरेंज' अलर्ट जारी किया है। कोलकाता, हुगली, हावड़ा, दक्षिण और उत्तर 24 परगना और पूर्वी मिदनापुर जिलों में बड़े पैमाने पर नुकसान की आशंका।
