नई दिल्ली। लोकसभा के तीसरे चरण के लिए मंगलवार को देशभर में 116 सीटों पर मतदान शुरू हो गया, जिसमें गुजरात और केरल की सभी सीटें शामिल हैं। सात चरणों में से सबसे बड़े इस चरण के प्रमुख उम्मीदवारों में कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी, भाजपा अध्यक्ष अमित शाह और कई केंद्रीय मंत्री शामिल हैं।
गुजरात के गांधीनगर से भाजपा अध्यक्ष शाह मैदान में हैं जहां से पहले भाजपा के वरिष्ठ नेता लालकृष्ण आडवाणी चुनाव लड़कर लोकसभा पहुंचते रहे। केरल में वायनाड से कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी लड़ रहे हैं और इस सीट पर भी सबकी निगाहें हैं।

कांग्रेस सांसद शशि थरूर केरल के तिरुवनंतपुरम से फिर से किस्मत आजमा रहे हैं और उनके सामने भाजपा ने पूर्व राज्यपाल के राजशेखरन को उतारा है। कर्नाटक में यह एचडी कुमारस्वामी नीत कांग्रेस-जेडीएस गठबंधन सरकार के लिए परीक्षा है।
उत्तर प्रदेश में सपा नेता मुलायम सिंह यादव के परिवार के चार सदस्यों का भविष्य ईवीएम में कैद होगा। मुलायम, उनके दो भतीजे धर्मेंद्र यादव और अक्षय यादव फिर से लोकसभा पहुंचने के लिए प्रयासरत हैं।
इनके अलावा सपा के आजम खान और फिल्म अभिनेत्री तथा भाजपा प्रत्याशी जया प्रदा भी प्रमुख चेहरों में हैं। उत्तर गोवा से केंद्रीय आयुष मंत्री श्रीपद येसो नाइक फिर से मैदान में हैं।
बिहार में पांच लोकसभा सीटों के लिए मतदान चल रहा है, जिनमें से चार पर मौजूदा सांसद पप्पू यादव (मधेपुरा), उनकी पत्नी रंजीत रंजन (सुपौल), सरफराज आलम (अररिया) और महबूब अली कैसर (खगड़िया) हैं।
उल्लेखनीय है कि भारत में लोकसभा की कुल 543 सीटों के लिए सात चरणों में चुनाव हो रहा है। 11 अप्रैल को 91 और 18 अप्रैल को 96 सीटों पर मतदान हो चुका है। मतगणना 23 मई को होगी।
