पश्चिम बंगाल में लोकसभा चुनाव के नतीजों के बाद बीजेपी और सत्तारुढ़ तृणमूल कांग्रेस यानी टीएमसी के बीच सियासी हिंसा थमने का नाम नहीं ले रही है।
बीते शनिवार रात से उत्तर 24-परगना जिले के बशीरहाट इलाके में दोनों दलों के बीच हुई हिंसा में कम से कम आठ लोगों की मौत के बाद केंद्र ने राज्य सरकार को कानून व्यवस्था की स्थिति सुधारने की सलाह दी है और इस हिंसा पर रिपोर्ट मांगी है। दोनों दल हिंसा के लिए एक-दूसरे को जिम्मेदार ठहरा रहे हैं। हिंसा के बाद भारी तनाव को ध्यान में रखते हुए बशीरहाट में इंटरनेट सेवाएं बंद कर दी गई हैं।
बीजेपी ने इलाके में 12 घंटे का बंद भी आयोजित किया है। पार्टी के समर्थकों ने कई जगह ट्रेनें भी रोकी हैं। राज्यपाल केसरी नाथ त्रिपाठी भी दिल्ली में प्रधानमंत्री और गृह मंत्री से मुलाकात कर उनको जमीनी स्थिति की जानकारी देंगे। इस बीच, केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने राज्य सरकार से इस घटना पर रिपोर्ट मांगी है। लेकिन तृणमूल कांग्रेस ने इसे बीजेपी की गहरी साजिश करार दिया है।
ताजा घटना
उत्तर 24-परगना जिले के तहत बशीरहाट इलाके के संदेशखाली में शनिवार रात तृणमूल कांग्रेस और बीजेपी के बीच हुई राजनीतिक हिंसा में कम से कम आठ लोगों की मौत के बाद इलाके में भारी तनाव है। मृतकों में बीजेपी के पांच और तृणमूल का एक कार्यकर्ता शामिल हैं। हालांकि पुलिस ने चार लोगों के मरने की ही पुष्टि की है। लेकिन बीजेपी ने अपने पांच कार्यकर्ताओं की मौत का दावा किया है।
दूसरी ओर, तृणमूल कांग्रेस का दावा है कि उसके एक कार्यकर्ता की हत्या कर दी गई जबकि दो अन्य को नदी में फेंक दिया गया। बीजेपी नेता मुकुल राय दावा करते हैं, "तृणमूल कांग्रेस के लोगों ने पार्टी के पांच लोगों की हत्या कर दी है और बीजेपी के कम से कम 18 समर्थक गायब हैं।” राय ने शनिवार देर रात ही केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह को फोन पर इस घटना की जानकारी दे दी थी। उसके बाद ही गृह मंत्रालय ने राज्य सरकार से इस हिंसा पर रिपोर्ट मांगी है। राय ने इस हिंसा के लिए सीधे मुख्यमंत्री और तृणमूल कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष ममता बनर्जी को जिम्मेदार ठहराया है।
रविवार को तृणमूल कांग्रेस और बीजेपी की टीमों ने इलाके का दौरा किया। बीजेपी ने अपने पांच कार्यकर्ताओं की हत्या के विरोध में महानगर में एक जुलूस भी निकाला। प्रदेश बीजेपी अध्यक्ष दिलीप घोष के नेतृत्व में पार्टी के सात-सदस्यीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने मृतकों के घर जाकर उनके परिजनों से मुलाकात की। उसके बाद यह टीम अस्पताल जाकर घायलों से भी मिली।

दूसरी ओर, उत्तर 24-परगना जिले अध्यक्ष व खाद्य मंत्री ज्योतिप्रिय मल्लिक के नेतृत्व में तृणमूल कांग्रेस की एक पांच-सदस्यीय टीम ने भी इलाके का दौरा किया और पार्टी के मृत कार्यकर्ता कयूम मौल्ला के घर जाकर उसके परिजनों से मुलाकात की। मल्लिक आरोप लगाते हैं, "राज्य की सत्ता पाने की हड़बड़ी में ही बीजेपी आतंक की राजनीति का सहारा ले रही है।” उन्होंने केंद्र सरकार पर भी पक्षपात करने का आरोप लगाया है। मल्लिक का सवाल है कि केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने तृणमूल कार्यकर्ता की हत्या के मामले में कोई रिपोर्ट क्यों नहीं मांगी है? वह कहते हैं, "अमित शाह को यह बात याद रखनी चाहिए कि वह देश के गृहमंत्री हैं, बीजेपी के नहीं।”
बीजेपी नेता और सांसद दिलीप घोष ने इस हिंसा और पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं की हत्या के लिए मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी को जिम्मेदार ठहराया है। वह कहते हैं, "अपनी पैरों तले की जमीन खिसकते देख कर ममता अब हिंसा का सहारा ले रही हैं। राज्य में कानून व व्यवस्था की स्थिति पूरी तरह ध्वस्त हो चुकी है।” पार्टी के नेता मुकुल राय ने भी यही आरोप लगाते हैं।
नतीजों के बाद से हिंसा
लोकसभा चुनाव के नतीजों के बाद से ही तृणमूल कांग्रेस और बीजेपी के बीच शुरू हुई सियासी हिंसा में अब तक एक दर्जन से ज्यादा लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है। इनमें दोनों दलों के लोग शामिल हैं। हालांकि अगर इन दोनों दलों के दावों को मानें तो मृतकों की तादाद दो दर्जन के पार चली जाएगी। इन हत्याओं के बाद राज्य में सियासी माहौल लगातार गरमा रहा है। दोनों दलों के नेता इस हिंसा के लिए एक-दूसरे को जिम्मेदार ठहरा रहे हैं। लेकिन तथ्य यह है कि अपनी जमीन बचाने और मजबूत करने की इस कवायद में "जिसकी लाठी उसकी भैंस" की तर्ज पर कोई भी पीछे नहीं हट रहा है। लोकसभा चुनावों में बीजेपी की ओर से मिले झटके के बाद तृणमूल कांग्रेस जहां अपने पैरों तले की जमीन बचाने के लिए जूझ रही है वहीं बीजेपी अपनी जमीन और मजबूत करने के लिए।
सियासी हत्याओं का यह सिलसिला 23 मई को नतीजे सामने आने के बाद ही शुरू हो गया था। नतीजों के अगले दिन ही उत्तर 24-परगना जिले में एक बीजेपी कार्यकर्ता की मौत हो गई। मई के आखिर तक कम से कम छह लोगों की मौत हो गई थी। बर्दवान, बीरभूम और दिनाजपुर जिलों में जहां जिसका पलड़ा भारी था वहां उसने प्रतिद्वंद्वी को मार डाला। कूचबिहार जिले में तृणमूल के एक कार्यकर्ता की सरेआम गोली मार कर हत्या कर दी गई। बीते सप्ताह तृणमूल नेता निर्मल कुंडू की गोली मार कर हत्या कर दी गई। उसके बाद अब ताजा मामला सामने आया है।
ताजा हिंसा के बाद केंद्र ने राज्य सरकार को भेजे एक पत्र में कानून व व्यवस्था की स्थिति पर गहरी चिंता जताते हुए सरकार से हालात पर काबू पाने को कहा था। केंद्र ने इसे राज्य सरकार की नाकामी बताया था। इसके जवाब में राज्य के मुख्य सचिव मलय दे ने कहा है कि चुनावी नतीजों के बाद कुछ हिंसा जरूर हुई थी। लेकिन तमाम मामलों में त्वरित कार्रवाई की गई है और अब हालात काबू में हैं।
राजनीतिक पर्यवेक्षक विश्वनाथ पंडित कहते हैं, "वर्चस्व की लड़ाई के चलते शुरू हुई इस हिंसा के फिलहाल थमने के आसार कम ही है। 18 लोकसभा सीटें जीतने के बाद बीजेपी के हौसले बुलंद हैं और उसकी निगाहें अब दो साल बाद होने वाले विधानसभा चुनावों पर हैं। दूसरी ओर, तृणमूल भी किसी कीमत पर बीजेपी को बढ़त नहीं देना चाहती।”
