इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग के अब तक खेले गए 56 लीग मैचों का फौरी तौर पर आकलन किया जाए तो पता चलता है कि इन मैचों में भारतीय क्रिकेटरों (खासकर नामी सितारे) पर विदेशी क्रिकेटर ही भारी पड़े हैं, जिनका उम्र से ताल्लुक नहीं है। इन विदेशी क्रिकेटरों ने अपनी ऊर्जा और अनुभव के बूते जो छाप छोड़ी है, उसे लंबे अरसे तक भारतीय क्रिकेटप्रेमी याद रखेंगे।
ट्वेंटी-20 क्रिकेट असीमित ऊर्जा का खेल है। इसमें अनुभव का सही तरीके से इस्तेमाल करने वाले खिलाड़ियों के कदमों ने ही सफलता के नए आयाम स्थापित किए हैं। ऑस्ट्रेलियाई क्रिकेटर दुनिया के सर्वश्रेष्ठ क्रिकेटरों में शुमार किए जाते हैं और आईपीएल में भी उन्होंने अपनी प्रतिभा का लोहा मनवाया। फिर जरूरी नहीं है कि उनकी टीम सेमीफाइनल तक पहुँची या नहीं।
ऑस्ट्रेलिया के अलावा श्रीलंका, दक्षिण अफ्रीका और पाकिस्तान के क्रिकेटरों ने भी अपना जलवा बिखेरा। सभी में एक समानता यह देखी गई कि उनका उम्र से कोई लेना-देना नहीं था। फर्क यह था कि उन्होंने अपनी ऊर्जा में अनुभव का समावेश करते हुए उसका बेहतर ढंग से इस्तेमाल किया। आप इन नामों में शेन वॉर्न, मैथ्यू हैडन, एंड्रयू साइमंड्स, शेन वॉटसन, एडम गिलक्रिस्ट, सनथ जयसूर्या, कुमार संगकारा, ग्रीम स्मिथ, मार्क बाउचर को शामिल कर सकते हैं।
विदेशी क्रिकेटरों की तुलना देशी सितारा क्रिकेटरों से करने पर हम पाते हैं कि उम्र और अनुभव में सचिन, सौरव, द्रविड़, जहीर खान, वीवीएस लक्ष्मण भले ही 'बीसे' हों, लेकिन खेल का तनाव उन्हें ले डूबा। जाहिर है कि इन सभी ने अपनी ऊर्जा और अनुभव का सही ढंग से इस्तेमाल नहीं किया। दरअसल, इन्हें खुद इसका अहसास हो गया होगा कि उनकी ऊर्जा ट्वेंटी-20 के काबिल नहीं है। इसमें सहवाग, धोनी और युवराज को इसलिए कामयाबी मिली, क्योंकि वे आक्रामक क्रिकेट खेलने के लिए ही बने हैं।
युवाओं का जानदार नेतृत्व : रोचक तथ्य तो यह भी है कि आईपीएल शुरू होने के पूर्व जिन बड़े-बड़े नाम वाली टीमों के बारे में जो दावे किए जा रहे थे, मैच-दर-मैच गुम होते चले गए। सौरव, सचिन और द्रविड़ की नेतृत्व वाली क्रमश: कोलकाता, मुंबई और बेंगलोर की टीमें सेमीफाइनल के पहले ही दम तोड़ गईं और जिन युवाओं ने टीम की कमान संभाली वे अपनी टीमों को अंतिम चार तक ले गए। युवराज ने किंग्स इलेवन पंजाब को उम्दा नेतृत्व दिया तो धोनी की धमक चेन्नई में सुनाई दी।
सहवाग खुन्नस खाकर खेले : आईपीएल के कप्तानों की सूची में आप अपवाद के रूप में वीरेन्द्र सहवाग रख सकते हैं। सहवाग की कप्तानी वाली डेयरडेविल्स भी चेन्नई की मेहरबानी से सेमीफाइनल में पहुँची। यदि चेन्नई डेक्कन को नहीं हराता तो यह फायदा मुंबई इंडियन्स को मिलता और वह अंतिम चार में होती। सहवाग का पूरे टूर्नामेंट में प्रदर्शन खुन्नस खाकर खेलने वाला रहा। वजह यह थी कि एक बार धोनी उत्साह में सीनियर खिलाड़ियों पर फब्ती कस चुके थे कि भारतीय क्रिकेट को पुराने नहीं, युवा खिलाड़ियों की जरूरत है। इसी चुनौती ने सहवाग की खुन्नस को बढ़ाया और वे अपने प्रदर्शन से यह जताने में लगे रहे कि उनमें अभी भी दमखम बाकी है।
उम्रदराज क्रिकेटरों की कामयाबी : सनथ जयसूर्या आज भले ही 38 पार हैं, लेकिन उनके बल्ले की धार अभी भी पैनी है। मुंबई के लिए जयसूर्या ने 14 मैचों में 514 (57 चौके 31 छक्के) रन बनाए। शेन वॉर्न (राजस्थान) आज 38 साल 259 दिन के हो गए हैं और उनमें बला की काबिलियत है। आईपीएल में वॉर्न 13 मैचों में 17 विकेट लेकर टॉप टेन में तीसरे स्थान पर काबिज हैं।
चेन्नई के लिए खेले 36 वर्षीय मैथ्यू हैडन ने केवल 4 मैचों में 189 रन (24 चौके 6 छक्के) ठोंके। 34 साल के शान पोलाक ने अपनी गेंदों से भले ही अधिक कमाल नहीं दिखाया हो, लेकिन बल्ले से उन्होंने कमाल दिखाया। पोलाक मुंबई इंडियन्स का हिस्सा थे और उन्होंने 13 मैचों में 147 रन (12 चौके 8 छक्के) बनाए।
32 साल के एंड्रयू साइमंड्स (डेक्कन चार्जर्स) ने भी 4 मैच खेले और 161 रन (15 चौके 9 छक्के) बनाए। 31 साल के मार्क बाउचर (बेंगलोर) ने 10 मैचों में 225 (24 चौके 6 छक्के), 30 बरस के कुमार संगकारा (पंजाब) ने 9 मैचों में 317 रन (41 चौके 8 छक्के) और 26 वर्षीय शेन वॉटसन (राजस्थान) ने 13 मैचों में 392 (39 चौके 16 छक्के) रन ठोंके।
भारतीय युवाओं में भी दमखम : ऐसी बात नहीं है कि भारत के सभी सितारा क्रिकेटर दोयम दर्जे के साबित हुए। ट्वेंटी-20 क्रिकेट में विश्व विजेता भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के कप्तान महेंद्रसिंह धोनी आईपीएल में चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स टीम की अगुआई कर रहे हैं। उनकी लड़ाका टीम सेमीफाइनल का टिकट बुक करा चुकी है।
धोनी ने कुल 14 मैच खेलकर 37 चौकों व 13 छक्कों की मदद से कुल 385 रन बनाए हैं। चेन्नई टीम के आईकॉन महेंद्रसिंह धोनी अपनी नेतृत्व क्षमता का लोहा मनवा चुके हैं और इसी तर्ज पर किंग्स इलेवन पंजाब के कप्तान युवराजसिंह भी चल रहे हैं। युवराजसिंह ने 14 मैचों में 24 चौके, 19 छक्कों की मदद से 295 रन एकत्र किए हैं।

युवाओं का जानदार नेतृत्व : रोचक तथ्य तो यह भी है कि आईपीएल शुरू होने के पूर्व जिन बड़े-बड़े नाम वाली टीमों के बारे में जो दावे किए जा रहे थे, मैच-दर-मैच गुम होते चले गए। सौरव, सचिन और द्रविड़ की नेतृत्व वाली क्रमश: कोलकाता, मुंबई और बेंगलोर की टीमें सेमीफाइनल के पहले ही दम तोड़ गईं और जिन युवाओं ने टीम की कमान संभाली वे अपनी टीमों को अंतिम चार तक ले गए। युवराज ने किंग्स इलेवन पंजाब को उम्दा नेतृत्व दिया तो धोनी की धमक चेन्नई में सुनाई दी।
सहवाग खुन्नस खाकर खेले : आईपीएल के कप्तानों की सूची में आप अपवाद के रूप में वीरेन्द्र सहवाग रख सकते हैं। सहवाग की कप्तानी वाली डेयरडेविल्स भी चेन्नई की मेहरबानी से सेमीफाइनल में पहुँची। यदि चेन्नई डेक्कन को नहीं हराता तो यह फायदा मुंबई इंडियन्स को मिलता और वह अंतिम चार में होती। सहवाग का पूरे टूर्नामेंट में प्रदर्शन खुन्नस खाकर खेलने वाला रहा। वजह यह थी कि एक बार धोनी उत्साह में सीनियर खिलाड़ियों पर फब्ती कस चुके थे कि भारतीय क्रिकेट को पुराने नहीं, युवा खिलाड़ियों की जरूरत है। इसी चुनौती ने सहवाग की खुन्नस को बढ़ाया और वे अपने प्रदर्शन से यह जताने में लगे रहे कि उनमें अभी भी दमखम बाकी है।
उम्रदराज क्रिकेटरों की कामयाबी : सनथ जयसूर्या आज भले ही 38 पार हैं, लेकिन उनके बल्ले की धार अभी भी पैनी है। मुंबई के लिए जयसूर्या ने 14 मैचों में 514 (57 चौके 31 छक्के) रन बनाए। शेन वॉर्न (राजस्थान) आज 38 साल 259 दिन के हो गए हैं और उनमें बला की काबिलियत है। आईपीएल में वॉर्न 13 मैचों में 17 विकेट लेकर टॉप टेन में तीसरे स्थान पर काबिज हैं।
चेन्नई के लिए खेले 36 वर्षीय मैथ्यू हैडन ने केवल 4 मैचों में 189 रन (24 चौके 6 छक्के) ठोंके। 34 साल के शान पोलाक ने अपनी गेंदों से भले ही अधिक कमाल नहीं दिखाया हो, लेकिन बल्ले से उन्होंने कमाल दिखाया। पोलाक मुंबई इंडियन्स का हिस्सा थे और उन्होंने 13 मैचों में 147 रन (12 चौके 8 छक्के) बनाए।
32 साल के एंड्रयू साइमंड्स (डेक्कन चार्जर्स) ने भी 4 मैच खेले और 161 रन (15 चौके 9 छक्के) बनाए। 31 साल के मार्क बाउचर (बेंगलोर) ने 10 मैचों में 225 (24 चौके 6 छक्के), 30 बरस के कुमार संगकारा (पंजाब) ने 9 मैचों में 317 रन (41 चौके 8 छक्के) और 26 वर्षीय शेन वॉटसन (राजस्थान) ने 13 मैचों में 392 (39 चौके 16 छक्के) रन ठोंके।
भारतीय युवाओं में भी दमखम : ऐसी बात नहीं है कि भारत के सभी सितारा क्रिकेटर दोयम दर्जे के साबित हुए। ट्वेंटी-20 क्रिकेट में विश्व विजेता भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के कप्तान महेंद्रसिंह धोनी आईपीएल में चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स टीम की अगुआई कर रहे हैं। उनकी लड़ाका टीम सेमीफाइनल का टिकट बुक करा चुकी है।
