‘बेगम समरू का सच’ के लिए लेखक राजगोपाल सिंह वर्मा को महावीर प्रसाद द्विवेदी सम्मान
आगरा के लेखक राजगोपाल सिंह वर्मा को पंडित महावीर प्रसाद द्विवेदी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया है। यह सम्मान उत्तर प्रदेश शासन की तरफ से दिया जाता है। लेखक राजगोपाल सिंह वर्मा मुज़फ़्फ़रनगर के निवासी हैं।
उन्हें यह सम्मान मेरठ जिले के सरधना कस्बे की तत्कालीन जागीरदार फरजाना उर्फ़ बेगम समरू के व्यक्तित्व और कृतित्व पर लिखी किताब ‘बेगम समरू का सच’ पर दिया गया।
लखनऊ के कलामंडपम प्रेक्षागृह में आयोजित इस सम्मान समारोह में श्री वर्मा के साथ ही देशभर के करीब 48 और भी लेखक और साहित्यकारों को अपनी कृतियों के लिए सम्मानित किया गया।
‘बेगम समरू का सच’ के लेखक राजगोपाल सिंह वर्मा ने अपनी इस किताब के बारे में बताया कि फरजाना ऊर्फ बेगम समरू मुगल और ईस्ट इंडिया काल में मेरठ के पास सरधना की जागीरदारी रही हैं, जिन्होंने 58 साल तक एक बड़े भू-भाग पर शासन किया। इस किताब के लिए उन्होंने सरधना की उस प्रभावशाली बेगम के व्यक्तित्व के कई पहलुओं पर खोज की और उसे किताब शक्ल में दर्ज किया।
उल्लेखनीय है कि लेखक वर्मा पहले ही कई सरकारी विभागों में जिम्मेदार पदों पर रहकर अपनी पहचान बना चुके हैं। लेकिन एक पुस्तक-लेखन के तौर पर यह किताब उनकी पहली कोशिश है।

लखनऊ के कलामंडपम प्रेक्षागृह में आयोजित इस सम्मान समारोह में श्री वर्मा के साथ ही देशभर के करीब 48 और भी लेखक और साहित्यकारों को अपनी कृतियों के लिए सम्मानित किया गया।
‘बेगम समरू का सच’ के लेखक राजगोपाल सिंह वर्मा ने अपनी इस किताब के बारे में बताया कि फरजाना ऊर्फ बेगम समरू मुगल और ईस्ट इंडिया काल में मेरठ के पास सरधना की जागीरदारी रही हैं, जिन्होंने 58 साल तक एक बड़े भू-भाग पर शासन किया। इस किताब के लिए उन्होंने सरधना की उस प्रभावशाली बेगम के व्यक्तित्व के कई पहलुओं पर खोज की और उसे किताब शक्ल में दर्ज किया।
