श्री गणेश के जन्म की हर कथा रोचक है... पढ़ें, पुराणों से ली गई यह कथाएं

भगवान गणपति के अवतरण व उनकी लीलाओं तथा उनके मनोरम स्वरूपों का वर्णन पुराणों और शास्त्रों में प्राप्त होता है। कल्पभेद से उनके अनेक अवतार हुए हैं।

* पद्म पुराण के अनुसार एक बार श्री पार्वती जी ने अपने शरीर के उबटन से एक आकर्षक कृति बनाई, जिसका मुख हाथी के समान था। फिर उस आकृति को उन्होंने गंगा में डाल दिया। गंगाजी में पड़ते ही वह आकृति विशालकाय हो गई। पार्वती जी ने उसे पुत्र कहकर पुकारा। देव समुदाय ने उन्हें गांगेय कहकर सम्मान दिया और ब्रह्मा जी ने उन्हें गणों का आधिपत्य प्रदान करके गणेश नाम दिया।

* लिंग पुराण के अनुसार एक बार देवताओं ने भगवान शिव की उपासना करके उनसे सुरद्रोही दानवों के दुष्टकर्म में विघ्न उपस्थित करने के लिए वर मांगा। आशुतोष शिव ने 'तथास्तु' कहकर देवताओं को संतुष्ट कर दिया।

समय आने पर गणेश जी का प्राकट्य हुआ। उनका मुख हाथी के समान था और उनके एक हाथ में त्रिशूल तथा दूसरे में पाश था। देवताओं ने पुष्प-वृष्टि करते हुए गजानन के चरणों में बार-बार प्रणाम किया। भगवान शिव ने गणेश जी को दैत्यों के कार्यों में विघ्न उपस्थित करके देवताओं और ब्राह्मणों का उपकार करने का आदेश दिया। 

* इसी तरह से ब्रह्म वैवर्त पुराण, स्कन्द पुराण तथा शिव पुराण में भी भगवान गणेश जी के अवतार की भिन्न-भिन्न कथाएं मिलती हैं प्रजापति विश्वकर्मा की रिद्धी-सिद्धि नामक दो कन्याएं गणेश जी की पत्नियां हैं। सिद्धि से शुभ और रिद्धी से लाभ नाम के दो कल्याणकारी पुत्र हुए। 

* गणेश चालीसा में वर्णित है : एक बार माता पार्वती ने विलक्षण पुत्र प्राप्ति हेतु बड़ा तप किया। जब  यज्ञ पूरा हुआ अब श्री गणेश ब्राह्मण का रूप धर कर पहुंचें। अतिथि मानकर माता पार्वती ने उनका सत्कार किया। श्री गणेश ने प्रसन्न होकर वर दिया कि माते, पुत्र के लिए जो तप आपने किया है उससे आपको विशिष्ट बुद्धि वाला पुत्र बिना गर्भ के ही प्राप्त होगा। वह गणनायक होगा, गुणों की खान होगा। कहकर वे अंतर्ध्यान हो गए और पालने में बालक का स्वरूप धारण कर लिया।

माता पार्वती की खुशी का ठिकाना न रहा। आकाश से फूलों की वर्षा होने लगी। भव्य उत्सव मनाया जाने लगा। चारों दिशाओं से देवी-देवता विलक्षण पार्वती नंदन को देखने पहुंचने लगे। शनिदेव भी पहुंचें। लेकिन वे अपने दृष्टि अवगुण की वजह से बालक के सामने जाने से बचने लगे। माता पार्वती ने आग्रह किया कि क्या शनि देव को उनका उत्सव और पुत्र प्राप्ति अच्छी नहीं लगी? संकोच के साथ शनि देव सुंदर बालक को देखने पहुंचे।

लेकिन यह क्या? शनिदेव की नजर पड़ते ही बालक का सिर आकाश में उड़ गया। माता पार्वती विलाप करने लगी। कैलाश में हाहाकार मच गया। हर तरफ यही चर्चा होने लगी कि शनि ने पार्वती पुत्र का नाश किया है। तुरंत भगवान विष्णु ने गरूड़ देव को आदेश दिया कि जो भी पहला प्राणी नजर आए उसका सिर काटकर ले आओ.... उन्हें रास्ते में सबसे पहले हाथी मिला।

गरूड़ देव हाथी का सिर लेकर आए। बालक के धड़ के ऊपर उसे रखा। भगवान शंकर ने उन पर प्राण मंत्र छिड़का। सभी देवताओं ने मिलकर उनका गणेश नामकरण किया और उन्हें प्रथम पुज्य होने का वरदान भी दिया। इस प्रकार श्री गणेश का जन्म हुआ।

* वराहपुराण के अनुसार भगवान शिव पंचतत्वों से बड़ी तल्लीनता से गणेश का निर्माण कर रहे थे। इस कारण गणेश अत्यंत रूपवान व विशिष्ट बन रहे थे। आकर्षण का केंद्र बन जाने के भय से सारे देवताओं में खलबली मच गई। इस भय को भांप शिवजी ने बालक गणेश का पेट बड़ा कर दिया और सिर को गज का रूप दे दिया।

* यह कथा शिवपुराण से है। इसके मुताबिक देवी पार्वती ने अपने उबटन से एक पुतला बनाया और उसमें प्राण डाल दिए। उन्होंने इस प्राणी को द्वारपाल बना कर बैठा दिया और किसी को भी अंदर न आने देने का आदेश देते हुए स्नान करने चली गईं। संयोग से इसी दौरान भगवान शिव वहां आए। उन्होंने अंदर जाना चाहा, लेकिन बालक गणेश ने रोक दिया। नाराज शिवजी ने बालक गणेश को समझाया, लेकिन उन्होंने एक न सुनी।

क्रोधित शिवजी ने त्रिशूल से गणेश का सिर काट दिया। पार्वती को जब पता चला कि शिव ने गणेश का सिर काट दिया है, तो वे कुपित हुईं। पार्वती की नाराजगी दूर करने के लिए शिवजी ने गणेश के धड़ पर हाथी का मस्तक लगा कर जीवनदान दे दिया। तभी से शिवजी ने उन्हें तमाम सामर्थ्य और शक्तियां प्रदान करते हुए प्रथम पूज्य और गणों का देव बनाया।
