मेरठ मेडिकल कॉलेज एक बार फिर से सुर्खियों में है। इस बार कोरोनावायरस (Coronavirus) कोविड-19 वार्ड से 64 वर्षीय कोरोना संक्रमित बुजुर्ग संदिग्ध परिस्थितियों में लापता हो गए। बीती 3 मई से मेडिकल कर्मचारियों ने परिजनों को उनकी कोई सूचना नहीं दी। परेशान और बेहाल होकर परिजन मेरठ मेडिकल कॉलेज पहुंचे तो उनके होश उड़ गए। परिजनों के मुताबिक कोविड के सभी वार्ड में उन्होंने अपने पेशेंट की तलाश की, कहीं नहीं मिले।
मेडिकल स्टाफ ने कोई संतोषजनक जवाब नहीं दिया। जिसके चलते पेशेंट की बेटी ने अफसरों और मुख्यमंत्री से पिता की बरामदगी की मांग की है। मुख्यमंत्री से शिकायत होते ही आंखें मूंदकर बैठे मेडिकल प्रिंसिपल ने एक जांच कमेटी गठित कर दी है, जो रविवार को अपनी रिपोर्ट सौंपेगी। वहीं प्रिंसिपल ने खुलासा किया है की पेशेंट की मौत हो गई थी, जिसका अज्ञात में अंतिम संस्कार कर दिया गया है।
मूल रूप से बरेली के रहने वाले 64 वर्षीय संतोष कुमार गाजियाबाद के राजनगर एक्टेंशन में अपनी बेटी शिखा और दामाद अंकित के साथ रहते हैं।बेटी के मुताबिक बीती 21 अप्रैल को उनके पिता संतोष बाथरूम में गिर गए थे और उन्हें चोट लग गई थी। पिता को गाजियाबाद के एक अस्पताल में ले जाया गया तो उनकी कोविड रिपोर्ट पॉजिटिव आ आई, जिसके चलते अस्पताल ने उन्हें हायर सेंटर ले जाने के लिए रैफर कर दिया।

गाजियाबाद से बेटी शिखा और दामाद मेडिकल से अपडेट मांगते रहे, कई दिन से कोई अपडेट नहीं मिला तो थक-हारकर बेटी मेरठ पहुंची। यहां उन्होंने कोविड वार्ड प्रभारी धीरज बालियान को पूरी जानकारी देते हुए पिता की जानकारी मांगी। मेडिकल के हर वार्ड में संतोष कुमार को तलाशा गया, लेकिन उनका कोई सुराग नहीं मिला।
पीड़ित शिखा का कहना है कि उसकी मां उषा कैंसर की मरीज हैं, यदि उन्हें पापा के बारे में बताया गया तो हालत खराब हो जाएगी। थक-हार बेटी शिखा ने डीएम, एडीएम से शिकायत की है, साथ ही एक अपना वीडियो बनाकर मुख्यमंत्री को भेजकर पिता की बरामदगी की गुहार लगाई है।
मेडिकल कॉलेज के प्रिंसिपल ज्ञानेंद्र चौहान ने बताया कि तीन सदस्यीय एक कमेटी गठित की गई है, जो इस मामले की जांच 12 घंटे के अंदर करके रविवार को अपनी रिपोर्ट देगी। इस मामले में जो भी दोषी होगा उसके खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
फिलहाल मेरठ मेडिकल कॉलेज ने अज्ञात में संतोष का अंतिम संस्कार करा दिया। प्रिंसिपल के मुताबिक, संतोष के परिजनों का रिकॉर्ड में कोई फोन नंबर नहीं था। मेडिकल में दो संतोष नाम के पेशेंट्स भर्ती थे, इसलिए भ्रमवश सूचना दी जाती रही संतोष की।
परिजनों ने कई दिनों बाद मेरठ आकर अपने पेशेंट की सुध ली तो घटनाक्रम सामने आया है, अब इसमें किसकी लापरवाही रही है, ये जांच रिपोर्ट आने के बाद ही क्लियर हो पाएगा। इसे मेरठ मेडिकल कॉलेज की बड़ी लापरवाही ही कहा जा सकता है।
