आम तौर पर भगवान के रंग-रूप में बदलाव करने का दुस्साहस लोग नहीं करते, कुछ महीने पहले हनुमान जी का मूड बदला गया है और इस पर ख़ासी चर्चा हो रही है। ये बदलाव काफ़ी हिट हुआ है लेकिन कई लोगों को रामभक्त हनुमान का यह रुप पसंद नहीं आ रहा है, उन्हें लगता है कि यह हनुमान जी की शास्त्रों में वर्णित विनीत छवि के ठीक उलट है।
देश के कई हिस्सों में गाड़ियों के पीछे वाले शीशे पर रौद्र रूप वाले हनुमानजी का स्टीकर दिखाई देने लगा है। राम की सेवा का भाव दिखाने वाले हनुमान का आक्रामक वर्ज़न लोगों को पसंद आ रहा है। हनुमान जी के इस रौद्र रूप के ज़रिए क्या कोई संदेश देने की कोशिश की जा रही है? ख़ास तौर पर उग्र हिंदुत्व की राजनीति के दौर में।
क्या ज़रूरत थी इस बदलाव की?
केरल के नामी चित्रकार रवि वर्मा ने हिंदू देवी-देवताओं को मानवीय रूप दिया। कथाओं के आधार पर उन्हें कुछ ऐसा रूप गढ़ा कि आम लोग ख़ुद को देवी-देवताओं से जुड़ा महसूस कर सकें।
हममें से ज़्यादातर लोगों ने भी पर्वत उठाने वाले और राम-दरबार में हाथ जोड़कर बैठे हनुमान को ही भगवान की तरह देखा है फिर ये खुले केश और आंखों से अंगारे बरसाने वाले हनुमान को गढ़ने की ज़रूरत क्या थी?
ये संयोग ही है कि हनुमान को नया रूप देने वाले कलाकार भी केरल के ही हैं। उनका नाम करन आचार्य है, वे कहते हैं, ''मैंने तो ये ऐसे ही बना दिया था, जब बनाया था तब पता भी नहीं था कि ये इतना पॉपुलर हो जाएगा।''
करन आस्तिक हैं और वे भगवान हनुमान में गहरी श्रद्धा रखते हैं, हर रोज़ हनुमान चालीसा का पाठ करते हैं। करन कहते हैं, ''ये पोस्टर मैंने क़रीब तीन साल पहले बनाया था। ऐसे ही बनाया था, अपने दोस्तों के लिए। उन्हें कुछ अलग चाहिए था। मैंने हनुमान को चुना।''
हालांकि करन कहते हैं कि "मैंने हनुमान को आक्रामक या गुस्से को नहीं दिखाया बल्कि इसमें एटिट्यूड है।"
अब जबकि उनका स्टीकर देश भर में इतना पसंद किया जा रहा है तो कैसा लगता है?
इस सवाल के जवाब में करन कहते हैं, "अब उतना नया नहीं लगता लेकिन शुरू-शुरू में जब मेरे कुछ दोस्तों ने फोन करके बताया कि उन्होंने मेरा बनाया हनुमान कार पर देखा तो बहुत अच्छा लगा था।"
एक मज़ेदार वाकये का ज़िक्र करते हुए करन कहते हैं कि "एक बार मेरा भाई स्कूटर बनवाने गया, वहां दुकान वाले ने रिपेयर करने के बाद कहा कि एक नया स्टीकर आया है, लगा लो। ये वही स्टीकर था जो मैंने बनाया था।"
दोस्त की सोशल वॉल से देश भर में बंट चुके इस स्टीकर का कई मौकों पर राजनीतिक इस्तेमाल भी हुआ है। इस पर करन कहते हैं कि "मैं नहीं जानता, कौन इसका किस तरह इस्तेमाल कर रहा है, मैं इन सबसे बहुत दूर हूँ। कलाकार हूँ, हर रोज़ कुछ न कुछ बनाता हूँ"।

लेकिन भगवान ही क्यों?
करन ने हनुमान के अलावा काली और शिव को लेकर भी कई प्रयोग किए हैं। सबसे ताज़ा है, काली का नन्हा रूप। तो वे भगवान के तय रूपों से कुछ अलग बनाकर क्या साबित करना चाहते हैं?
इस पर करन कहते हैं 'मैं किसी को कुछ साबित नहीं करना चाहता। मैं सिर्फ़ कुछ न कुछ बनाते रहना चाहता हूं। कलाकार जितनी प्रैक्टिस करेगा उसका काम उतना निखरेगा। हां, लेकिन मैं कुछ नया बनाना चाहता हूं। मसलन, लोगों ने काली का रौद्र रूप ही आज तक देखा है पर उनका बालरूप नहीं देखा तो मैंने नन्हीं काली बनाई।'
क्या किसी ने भगवान का रूप बदलने पर एतराज़ नहीं किया, इस पर करन कहते हैं कि "नहीं, कभी ऐसा तो नहीं हुआ। न घर पर, न बाहर। लोगों ने सिर्फ उत्साहित ही किया"।
पर क्यों लोग कर रहे हैं इसे इतना पसंद?
करन के बनाए स्टीकर को अपनी कार पर लगाकर घूमने वाले 27 साल के अंकित पांडेय कहते हैं कि "राम भक्त हूं। इस नाते हनुमान भाईजान हैं अपने। भाई की सेफ़्टी उनकी ज़िम्मेदारी है, इसलिए लगा रखा है"।
प्रमोद ने हाल ही में एक कॉम्पैक्ट कार खरीदी है। कार के पीछे 'एटीट्यूड वाले हनुमान' का काला वर्ज़न लगा है। वो कहते हैं, "जान-बूझकर गेरुआ नहीं लगाया, नहीं तो लोग भगवा समझ लेते। किसी पार्टी, संगठन का बनते ही दुश्मन पैदा हो जाते हैं। इसलिए काला लगा लिया, सुंदर है सिर्फ़ इसलिए दूसरी कोई वजह नहीं है"।
दिल्ली-एनसीआर में ओला चलाने वाले सुजीत कहते हैं कि जैसे महाभारत के युद्ध में हनुमान, अर्जुन के रथ पर सवार थे, वैसे ही ये मेरा रथ है और हनुमान इस पर सवार होकर दिशा बताते हैं। लेकिन गुस्से वाले हनुमान अजीब नहीं लगते? इस पर वो कहते हैं कि "गुस्सा तो आज के समय में होना चाहिए, वरना कोई भी चला के निकल जाएगा, ये हनुमान बुरी नज़र को भस्म कर देंगे"।
धरमवीर के पास वैगनआर है। वो कहते हैं, "ब्राह्मण हैं, जन्म से भी और कर्म से भी। ब्राह्मण हनुमान का पोस्टर नहीं लगाएगा तो किसका लगाएगा?"
बाज़ार में एटीट्यूट वाले हनुमान के कई वर्ज़न मौजूद हैं। 10 रुपये के स्टीकर से लेकर हज़ार तक। काले और गेरुए रंग में मौजूद ये स्टीकर आपको हर चौराहे पर बिकते मिल जाएंगे लेकिन सवाल अब भी वही है कि जिस समाज में लोग आहत होने के लिए तैयार बैठे नज़र आते हैं वहीं एक भगवान के रूप को लेकर इतना बड़ा फेरबदल हो जाता है लेकिन कोई कुछ नहीं कहता। तो क्या इसे कलाकार की उपलब्धि मान लेना चाहिए।
